Transcript from Dr. Jordana Quinn

I think connection is so important in our society. Sometimes, just writing words doesn’t work—either people don’t read them, or they fail to capture the emotion behind the message. For me, it’s so important to truly convey the emotions of a patient who has gone through a retreat with me or had a procedure at my practice. These are real people, and I’m not making up their words.

I’ve used the videos in ways I hadn’t anticipated. For example, I’ve given presentations in the community and used these videos as testimonials for my practice. I think this has been incredibly helpful for connecting with people who attend my talks. Hearing success stories directly from patients is so much more impactful than just showing a random picture of a patient—or who even takes pictures of their patients, right? Instead of just talking about what patients have said, these videos bring their words to life.

Adding the videos to my website, both for the retreats and for my business, has been a game-changer. It makes everything feel more legitimate. People can see that others have gone through these experiences and hear the emotion and transformation in their voices. Whether it’s my office or the retreat, the impact has been amazing.

As physicians, we’re trained in medicine, but when you open a business, there’s so much more to learn—marketing, getting the word out—it’s overwhelming and confusing. To be honest, when I started this process, I didn’t know what I was getting into. I just knew I wanted something different from what I had been doing and what others were doing. I wanted a way to more clearly communicate my message and the impact of my work to the world.

When you hear the stories of people who have gone through a transformation, it’s so much more powerful. At some point, when you own a business—really, any business—you realize you can’t do it all alone. Editing videos isn’t a strength of mine, nor is it something I’m interested in. I don’t even know how to do it! It’s not rocket science, but you realize it’s important to invest in your business. There’s always an exchange of time for money, and you can only do so much.

The way you guys created the videos was so powerful and multi-layered. You asked me about the purpose of my business, the passion behind what I do, and my mission. You asked so many thoughtful questions, and that was so important. I felt like you totally understood my mission. When you asked questions to the people in the videos, you had a clear understanding of the key points to communicate to the world.
