Hello, my name is Dr. Susan Fox. I am a doctor of acupuncture and Chinese medicine in Marin County, California. My area of specialty is fertility, and it is a challenging experience for many of the women and people who come to see me either in private practice or in an online course. They feel uniquely isolated; they don’t really understand that they’re not alone in this. I was delighted to be able to demonstrate specifically and clearly through these testimonials just how much they are not alone, just how common this is, and how much hope they actually have.
The difference between a written testimonial and a video testimonial is the emotion that can get conveyed—whether it be the joy of a woman finding herself pregnant or having delivered her baby, or the intensity that she went through. The listener and viewer can really experience this because we are relational people, and when we see someone who’s gone through what we are going through, there’s an exhale, there’s a relief to that, and there’s an opening as to what we can then experience possibly for ourselves.
I am using these video testimonials every which way to Sunday. They are on my website—both websites. I have a private practice website and a course website. They are on social media, they are on YouTube, and then I will splice out important sections—things that really convey what this person was trying to share. That will get posted on Instagram, and I’m getting such lovely feedback from the social media community because once again, this is them wanting to feel seen and then feeling seen.
 
I’m not a data-driven person necessarily, but I will say that I have had people share with me how moved they were by the testimonial and how they really did feel that I might be the person to help them. The proof is in the pudding—they become patients or clients. While I might not have the stats, I have the knowing that yes, this is a game-changer. I have had written testimonials on my website and they scroll through and have a certain impact. It covers some blank space on the page, but as I shared, there’s nothing quite like pressing that play button and then getting invited into another person’s story.
While it may not have been something I had considered before, once it was brought to my attention that this was an option, it was a no-brainer because here again, I’m dealing with women, couples, and people who are going through something very personal. There’s no amount of reading someone else’s experience or testimonial about how great Dr. Susan is that is going to shift their perspective the way being invited into their emotional experience on video can accommodate.
There is just no way on God’s green earth that this was going to be done any other way but being outsourced by your professional team. I will say the feedback that I got from my patients who were on video was that they felt so welcomed and so at ease. While sometimes it can feel a little stilted having a video interview, this was not the experience at all—it felt much more like a conversation, and everyone was able to really be herself.
Working with Share One has been far and away the only way this would have gotten done and the only way it would have gotten done so successfully. It has moved the needle for my practice, actually made me feel better about my practice. Even myself watching those video testimonials, I got teary because I know these people and I know what we went through together, and all of that got conveyed so beautifully and quickly and efficiently through the Share One experience.
